The DH Chipmunk Story - The De Havilland Chipmunk, is a legendary post-war trainer, designed in 1946 to replace the Tiger Moth. As DHC’s first original design, it became an much loved, agile tandem-seat monoplane and served as the RAF’s primary trainer for decades, helping train thousands of pilots.
The Story of “AOTR” - Our Chipmunk - Built in April 1950, this Chipmunk was accepted in to the RAF as a Primary Trainer and registered as WB604.
History - After leaving the service in 1956, she spent some years in Germany and Switzerland, before returning to the UK. AOTR had a complete restoration in recent years and remains one of the most beautiful Chipmunks in the air today.
